The Digital Media Council (DMC) recently partnered with the biggest teen graduation celebration in Central Texas, The Kids Are Alright Fest--two days of skating, music, gaming, and educational panels created mostly by young people for young people.  The annual event was hosted by the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum this year, and attracted between 2500-5000 young people, their families and friends.  “Digital Media – Technology is changing. Where do I fit in?” panelists included Carl Settles, founder and executive director of Media Diversity Council; Jason Manley, president of Massive Black and founder of The Art Department; Russell Rains, program director for St. Edward’s Digital Media Management MBA; and Steve Mullins from Austin Community College’s motion graphic art department.

"The whole experience with Gateway and Skillpoint Alliance has electrified my quest for life. Each team coordinator made us feel like we were a part of their lives and not just another number on their paychecks. I personally learned more than electrical work; I learned how to conduct myself professionally. I loved the whole experience and hope that this will be a lasting reflection for years to come." - Gateway Electrical Student
