Gateway Construction is a five-week adult training program in the construction trades available at no cost to Travis County residents who are unemployed, under-employed, homeless, or transitioning from incarceration and seeking employment opportunities.

Before I started Construction Gateway, I had low self-esteem, no self confidence and very little hope for a bright future. I’ve made some bad choices in my life but I learned a lesson with every mistake and it’s helped me change the way I think.

Construction Gateway has given me the chance to re-invent myself. The program and all the instructors have given me back my self-esteem, self-confidence and something that’s far more important than anything that can be taught in these classrooms... hope. I am no longer afraid to wake up and face the day’s challenges.
