AUSTIN, Texas – April 23, 2010 – Skillpoint Alliance and the Community Technology Training Centers (CTTC) won three Digital Inclusion Awards at the City of Austin Grant for Technology Opportunities Program’s (GTOPs) 10th Anniversary Gala. Skillpoint took home three of the eight awards presented: Outstanding Service in Providing Digital Opportunities to Families and/or Adults, Overall Outstanding Service in Fostering Digital Inclusion and the Community Choice Award through online voting. Stacy Bouwman, who for 10 years built and directed the Centers, was also nominated for Individual Outstanding Service in Fostering Digital Inclusion.
Former Austin Mayor Pro Tem Brewster McCracken conducted the inaugural presentation of the Digital Inclusion Awards to honor GTOPs grantee organizations and individuals who help promote GTOPs goal of “creating a community where all citizens have access to facilities and the necessary skills to participate in digital life.”
We are very thankful to GTOPs, all of the judges and community members that voted, our clients, and the staff of CTTC who help provide these important services. We could not have done it without you!
